Sulphur Dioxide Fumigation of Fresh Fuits

Currently, fresh fruits are fumigated with sulphur dioxide in order to extend their shelf life and maintain freshness. However, sulphur dioxide residues may affect consumer health; therefore, the fumigation process must be controlled so that residue levels do not exceed those prescribed by law. This is to ensure consumer safety and to enhance confidence in Thai fruits both domestically and in the global market.

Peanut Kernel : Maximum Level of Afatoxin

At present, dried raw peanut kernels used as food have been found to be contaminated with aflatoxins, which pose risks to public health and consumer safety. Therefore, it is necessary to control the quality of such agricultural commodities in order to protect consumers and to prevent possible harm to the public by establishing the permissible level and control measures of aflatoxin specifically for peanut kernels intended for use as food, excluding those used for planting purposes.
